However, that is not all that is available for transforming this unique piece of home furniture. The best way to preserve the beauty and durability of this item is to follow the basic instructions that are given below. The tips given will not require any special tools, except a hammer. The measurements given will be a bit long, so you might have to shorten them if you are planning to use them on a different item.

First, the base is made of the powder-coated steel, and should be dried completely before you start to work on it. You can finish it either by hanging it up in the sun, or putting it in a dry place, so that it can dry completely. When it is completely dried, you can start to work on cleaning it. Put a thick layer of sand in a sieve or filter and slowly pour cold water, and gradually pour water that is mixed with any detergent, into the sieve. Be sure that the water does not come into contact with the steel. Now you have filtered the water, you can start to clean the steel with a soft cloth. Use a mild steel polish. Do not use a steel cleaner or steel polish. This will produce poisonous fumes. If you have more steel than you can use, just cut it into thin slices and store it in a glass jar. When the design you want to make is finished, you can simply take a slice and put it on the base in the desired pattern.

After the base is dry, you can start to work on painting it. If you are planning to use the sofa, then you can simply line it up in the middle with a huge metal ruler. Do not point the ruler at the middle of the sofa, but at the floor. This will help you to mark the floor. After marking the floor, you can now cut a hole in the base of the sofa for the cable. To do this, hold the base of the sofa with your hands and point the ruler so that the hole goes exactly into the hole you just cut. When you have done this, you can now insert the sofa base into the hole in the base of the sofa.

Then you can paint the base of the sofa in a color that matches the color of the sofa.

The next thing to do is to cover the base of the sofa with satin. There are two ways of doing this, either you can use two linens, put them onto the base of the sofa and fasten the sofa to the base of the sofa with metal ties or hooks. There is no definite rule for this, as each one is an individual choice.
